Work & Edition Details
While Mozart wrote his violin and piano concertos primarily for his own use, the wind concertos were usually composed at very short notice for other soloists. The present work is one of the outstanding examples of its genre in the 18th century.
Während Mozart seine Violin- und Klavierkonzerte in erster Linie für den Eigengebrauch geschrieben hat, sind die Bläserkonzerte meist sehr kurzfristig für andere Solisten entstanden. Dieses „Gelegenheitswerk“ gehört jedoch zugleich zu den herausragenden Beispielen seiner Gattung im 18. Jahrhundert.
