Work & Edition Details
The piano part of the third of the „Hebrew Melodies“ op. 9 by Joseph Joachim allows itself ideally to be adapated for the organ without any loss of the musical events focused on the viola. Brahms described Joachim‘s op. 9 as “wonderfully moving“. For the first time in the synagogal music series, the ouvre of romantic concert chamber music for solo instrument and accompaniment clearly inspired thematically and stylistically by Jewish contexts is presented to us.
