A missa brevis for descant choir and piano (organ ad lib.) by Olli Kortekangas (b. 1955) gets a Finnish colour in Laudamus, of which text Luotujen virsi is a poem in Kalevala meter by Pekka Kivekäs. The composer encourages to find different ways to perform the work: for example the chorus parts can be doubled or replaced by an obligato instrument.
