Work & Edition Details
Composed by Andy Scott and arranged by Jim Fieldhouse for Foden's Brass Band. Premiere recording by Foden's Band, conducted by Mike Fowles, on the CD "A World Within" (world of Brass DOYCD276). Fujiko is cinematic soundscape that reflects its Japanese roots, where the original clarinet version was premiered in 2005. A feature for solo cornet that commences with a simple folk-like melody, and builds to a powerful and emotive climax, before an atmospheric and calm ending.Originally commissioned by the British Clarinet Ensemble and funded by the Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britain and Henri Selmer Paris., Fujiko has been expertly arranged for Brass Band by good friend and colleague, Jim Fieldhouse. Percussion: 4 players - wind chimes, suspended cymbal, tubular bells, tam-tam, tambourine, glockenspeil, rain stick, triangle, timpani, vibraphone.
