While his influence on the development of the symphony might come first to mind, Joseph Haydn's contribution to the development of the classical sonata was no less notable. These attractive works were often composed for students to play and are imbued with the composer's natural wit. This is the second in the classic Edition Peters 4-volume set of Haydn sonatas edited by Carl Adolf Martienssen. Contains Hob.XVI Nos.2, 5, 13, 14, 18, 21, 23, 27, 28,29, 33, and 39.
