Work & Edition Details
Composition by Florent Gauthier for 6 a cappella children’s voices or women soloists. Work composed in November and December 2007 and premiered in Paris on June 16th, 2017 by Till Fechner and his company L'étrange Boutique (to whom it is dedicated). This piece is built on one hand on tight harmonies, obtained by using voices of the same register, and the use of the beginning of the text, only the first two verses; on the other hand on the opposition of colors, some created by the counterpoint, sometimes by the harmonic work. Text: Ave verum corpus natum de Maria Virgine / Vere passum, immolatum in cruce pro homine / O Iesu dulcis, O Iesu pie, O Iesu, fili Mariae - translation: Hail, true body born of the Virgin Mary / Who really suffered and was immolated on the cross for the sake of humanity. / Oh, sweet Jesus, Oh Jesus, Oh Jesus, son of Mary - Duration : 5’30’’
