Work & Edition Details
Concerto in C Hob.VIIb/1 is the first of Haydn's 2 cello concertos, arranged for cello and piano by Klaus Burmeister. The manuscript of this work was only rediscovered in 1961. Since then, the cello concerto has enjoyed increasing popularity among cellists and concert audiences.
Das Konzert für Violoncello und Orchester in C-Dur Hob.VIIb:1 ist das erste der beiden berühmten Cellokonzerte Joseph Haydns. Klaus Burmeister arrangierte das Konzert für Cello und Klavier, die Bezeichnung der Solostimme stammt von Philipp Bosbach. Das Manuskript dieses Werkes wurde erst 1961 wiederentdeckt. Seitdem erfreut sich das Cellokonzert zunehmender Beliebtheit bei Cellisten wie bei Konzertbesuchern.
