Work & Edition Details
One of the oldest pieces I still acknowledge, this is a big set of variations along the lines of the Goldbergs and the Diabellis. I wrote it for the fine pianist Colin Stone, who later recorded it. Over its 27 minute span, it alludes to many different composers, and ends with a big fugue (like the Brahms 'Handel') and then a quiet coda (a bit like the Diabellis).
