... and peace at last was written for a concert that took place on the occasion of the of the 6th Lutheran Church Congress 2000 in the Audimax of the University of Bochum. The sections of this piece for large brass ensemble with timpani show different forms of musical expression , which show the different tonal possibilities between powerful tutti and lyrical solo. solo. Some passages refer to Bach's chorale Brich an, o schönes Morgenlicht from the Christmas Oratorio, which concludes with the words "und letzte bring peace".
