Das Klaviertrio Looking back to Ararat von Harald Weiss wurde durch den 1962 in Armenien geborenen Komponisten, Dirigenten und Musikwissenschaftler David Haldjian inspiriert. Dem gleichermaßen sehnsuchtsgeladenen wie hoffnungsvollen Adagiosatz hat der Komponist - frei nach Paul Celan - ein bildstarkes Motto vorangestellt. Der Blick fällt zurück auf den mythen- und legendenumrankten erloschenen Vulkan Ararat: "Majestätisch und voller Würde ragt der Berg gen Himmel. Nichts, nichts ist verloren."
