Work & Edition Details
Rachmaninoff's set of ten Préludes Op. 23 was composed in 1901 to 1902 and includes some of the most dazzling late Romantic music for the piano such as the famous Prelude in G minor. The C sharp minor Prélude Op. 3 No. 2 also included here was the first work Rachmaninoff composed as a "free artist" upon graduation from the Moscow Conservatory aged 19. It has become one of the most famous of all works for the piano.
Rachmaninoffs Satz von zehn Préludes op. 23 wurde in den Jahren 1901 bis 1902 komponiert und enthält einige der schillerndsten spätromantischen Klavierstücke wie das berühmte Prélude in g-Moll. Das hier ebenfalls enthaltene Prélude cis-Moll op. 3 Nr. 2 war das erste Werk, das Rachmaninoff als "freier Künstler" nach seinem Abschluss am Moskauer Konservatorium im Alter von 19 Jahren komponierte. Es ist zu einem der berühmtesten Klavierwerke überhaupt geworden.
