Work & Edition Details
The score (1999) is loosely based on an old Breton melody, originally played on shawms, which gives A Sketch of Gaul its characteristic Gallic flavour. The virtuosic writing is scored for two trumpets, horn, tuba and keyboard.A Sketch of Gaul was recorded by Chaconne Brass on the CD 'We Are Not Alone', CBCD1101.
