The main element of the work revolves around the delicate treatment of dissonances and resolutions, especially on the words « tenez moy en vos bras » (hold me in your arms), wanting to imitate the impression of the embrace of a hug. This idea will be fed throughout the work. The music supporting the words « je suis malade » (I am sick), will be mainly characterized by a melodic rise marked by dissonances that resolve, evoking the idea of raising a tired hand seeking a comforting embrace. The climax of the piece is heard on the words « votre amour me guérira » (your love will heal me), suggesting a glimmer of hope and a will to live, only to return to a moment of calm, recalling the words « tenez moy en vos bras » (hold me in your arms), as if to signify that healing will only depend on the love given and as long as there is a sincere and comforting embrace to lead to this hoped-for healing.
