Work & Edition Details
‘Altostratus usually covers the whole sky, with a gentle undulation and a grey or blue-grey appearance. The sun or moon occasionally shine through an altostratus cloud, but appear watery or fuzzy’. Written to explore the vocality and lyricism of the modern saxophone sound, this piece weaves melodies and counter-melodies together, gently undulating until the sun bursts momentarily through before being gently masked once again.
