Work & Edition Details
The pianist Malte Sebastian Schäfer chose the Loreley myth for his “carte blanche” theme concert in the German Music Competition 2018 finals. The Loreley legend has inspired many poets and composers. In this short cycle, a seductive and enchanting contemporary Loreley figure appears in various guises; melodrama, lied, song, until she herself is unmasked (in the Dagmar Nick setting).
