Work & Edition Details
The techniques studied from this composition will facilitate the ability to study works of the highest level. Harvey believes that the majority of students learning the piano would love to develop the technique of a super-virtuoso. This piece may be the missing link or step that can take a student from an advanced level to that same sphere. Perhaps this is the only way that a piece entitled The Tempest could logically appear: not a nightmare but a pleasant dream… a dream that can now become a reality! This piece was influenced particularly by Godowsky’s Étude No. 42 after Chopin’s Op. 25 No. 11.
