Work & Edition Details
“Suzhou Gardens” is inspired by the Classical Gardens of Suzhou. Alexander Rosenblatt wrote his own Chinese-style melody and spiced up the composition with jazz chords and harmonies. There are many fountains and waterfalls in the gardens, so he tried to depict the overflows and colours of the murmuring water in his music.
