Hoe Down is a "high energy" and exciting piece particularly suitable for an end of concert, encore or as a competition piece. Always a crowd pleaser, this quartet is a must in any saxophone quartets repertoire. This quartet is a baritone feature. Hoe Down was originally written for saxophone sextet (AA, TT, BB and optional drums). It was recorded by the Apollo Saxophone Quartet on their CD "First & Foremost". Subsequently re-scored for saxophone quartet, Hoe Down is a popular feature for the baritone player.
