Work & Edition Details
The origins of this sonata go back to my undergraduate studies at Durham University, where I began the work in 1990 under the supervision of Roger Redgate. As other compositional projects and priorities developed, the sketches were put to one side and only intermittently revisited. A request for a work of some substance from Gabriel Keen, for a recital in the British Music Information Centre's series at St Cyprian's, provided the impetus needed for me to complete the work. It was finished on the 4th December 2002.
