Work & Edition Details
"Transfiguraciones (Transfigurations) is composed on a twelve-note series, which appears in its original form at the beginning of the work, and is completed by the retrograde inversion 4. The treatment of both series forms the introduction. The absence of a time signature gives greater expressive freedom to the main theme. The reason for beginning with the violin’s lowest string is because the sonority of this string is deeper and more expressive.
Once the presentation is over, the work goes through different sections exploring the instrument’s timbral and technical possibilities, through different transfigurations in the series."
