Work & Edition Details
Despite being similar in size to Scheidt's Canzona (ADU-036), this Pfiester arrangement of the Partita in 5 movements for brass ensemble of 10 voices (4 trp., 2 hnr., 3 pos., Tb.) is considerably easier to realise because it is divided into 5 independent parts and each part is easier to blow because of its homophonic structure. The fact that these parts are in turn variants of one and the same musical substance (Variationen-Suite) only makes things more attractive.
