Work & Edition Details
In Flanders Fields was written for performance at the end of the Festival of Remembrance, immediately following The Lord’s Prayer and preceding the Act of Remembrance, The Last Post and the releasing of the poppies.The additional words “I will think of you” are inspired by the fourth verse from the poem ‘For The Fallen’ by Robert Laurence Binyon [1869-1943] used in The Act of Remembrance: “At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.”
