Work & Edition Details
In the 1840/50’s Louise Farrenc devoted herself intensively to composing chamber music. The sextet op. 40 written in 1851-52, of which this is the first publication, excels because of its unusual instrumentation and the originality of the thematical treating. An arrangement of the sextet for piano and string quartet by the composer is now being published for the first time. Level of difficulty: medium, piano virtuouso.
