Sonata for Guitar

This sonata consists of three movements. The first, A pleno sol (Full sun), is characterised by the return of an allegro and ends with an andante that goes from mf to pianissimo. Sometimes passionate, sometimes more meditative, it is full of variety. The second movement, Final de jornada, is an andante in which a song unfolds over long basses. The song moves from soprano to bass supported by recurring eighth notes. Punctuated by expressive forte notes, the movement ends in a triple piano. The third movement, entitled A cara de perro, which can be translated as 'without concession', lives up to its name. It is a presto with breathless rhythms throughout and ends fff;! The composer's entire language is to be found here, both classical and imbued with the flavours and rhythms of Argentine music. Of course, this is not a work for beginners!
