Work & Edition Details
Spirituals in Brass is part of the repertoire of SPLENDID BRASS. The brass ensemble was founded in 1992 by trumpeter Egbert Lewark and has since developed an extensive repertoire of Baroque, Romantic and contemporary music, as well as jazz and "U-Music" pieces. Numerous works have been dedicated to and premiered by the ensemble. Some of the compositions and arrangements written especially for SPLENDID BRASS have been published by Merseburger. Programming and especially stylistic awareness and interplay are repeatedly praised by the press. Church concerts, discussion concerts, open-air and children's concerts, music in castles and wineries represent a selection of the performance possibilities. In addition to these various forms of presentation, the ensemble often incorporates the visual arts and literature with corresponding works.
