Work & Edition Details
Eberhard Klotz presents here an arrangement in the style of the baroque period. The musical model was the baroque trio sonata, which leaves a great deal of scope for leading the three individual voices. In the present concert version, however, the violin sometimes develops independent virtuoso passages in the two corner movements, with the organ confining itself to the continuo at these points, only to play obbligato again on occasion. The concerto could thus be described as a mixture between a violin concerto and a trio sonata. Of course, the organ part can also be performed on the harpsichord.
