Work & Edition Details
The 4 preludes are quite different and in the transcription to the brass ensemble, an attempt was made to preserve this diversity. Thus, calm, melody-emphasised preludes contrast with rhythmic-metrical and very virtuosic examples, contrapuntal artfully worked alternate with blocky homophonic ones.
