Work & Edition Details
Le Loup, la chèvre et le chevreau is based on a fable by La Fontaine, and may be performed as a concert work or staged. This piece is quasi-operatic in conception, but the two singers don’t represent fixed individual characters. Rather they sing equally, often in rhythmic unison, taking on together the shifting roles of narrator, Greek chorus, and characters (nanny goat, kid, and wolf). Text by Jean de La Fontaine. Commissioned by the Nova Scotia Arts Council for Alizé (Montreal). The printed score and parts set of this work contains 2 extra copies of the score for singers to perform from.
