Work & Edition Details
...so this is what happened was written for the Composer's Slam at Heidelberger Frühling 2016. Like at a Poetry Slam the composers/performers have a five minute slot to convince the audience of the qualities of what they do. This is why this piece is essentially designed to be a crowd pleaser: the melodic and harmonic structure of both opening and end are pleasant and accessible, whereas the middle section surprises the audience with a proper wild and very saxophoney outburst. This is a fun piece both to hear and to perform.
