Work & Edition Details
"The materials for Fontana Mix consist of a group of line drawings, graphs, and transparent sheets which are superimposed to make a series of determinations. Cage used the score to make a tape piece in 1958. Scanner has made a new version for use in live performance; his primary sound source will be Cage’s original version.
All three compositions can be combined in any way [Concert For Piano and Orchestra, Fontana Mix, Aria]; there is no intentional coordination between the parts. The performance is “a process set in motion by a group of people”."
