Duration : 2'00'' The two villanelles gathered in this score present two opposite facets of the music of entertainment, a counterpoint to the serious madrigal, privileging an easy and extroverted musical pleasure.Lasso non e cor mio is in its pseudo-tragic theatricality the magnificent opportunity to taste, to savor the Italian language while taking the time to play with its finesse and the subtlety of the music. Dolce vaga pastorella is from a second book of "Villanella alla Napolitana", again for three voices, attributed to Luca Marenzio, but whose pieces were collected by Attilio Gualtieri. This latter is strongly suspected to be the author of some or part of these melodies, simple and cheerful. The provocative parallel fifths of measures 11 and without interruption from the measure 14 until the end between Canto and Bassus (to be sung in a parodic, nasal way), unknown in the other works of the madrigal master, can give us doubts on it ...
