6 Easy Sonatas by Johann Sebastian Bach's grand-pupil Johann Wilhelm Häßler, who met Mozart in Dresden, gave concerts with Haydn in London and later became Imperial Russian Court Kapellmeister at the court of Catherine the Great in St Petersburg and popularized Bach's piano works in Russia. These pieces bridge the gap between intermediate to early-advanced sonatas from the styles of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven and are among the most important piano works from the Viennese Classical era outside Vienna.
6 leichte Sonaten von Johann Sebastian Bachs Erfurter Enkelschüler Johann Wilhelm Häßler, der Mozart in Dresden traf, in London mit Haydn konzertierte und später Kaiserlich-Russischer Hofkapellmeister am Hof von Katharina der Großen in St. Petersburg wurde und Bachs Klavierwerke in Russland bekannt machte. Diese Stücke schließen die Lücke zwischen mittelschweren und früh fortgeschrittenen Sonaten aus den Stilen von Haydn, Mozart und Beethoven und gehören zu den bedeutendsten Klavierwerke aus der Zeit der Wiener Klassik außerhalb Wiens.
