E. C. Schirmer Music Company

E. C. Schirmer Music Company 由欧内斯特·C·舍默于 1921 年在波士顿创立。他曾长期在叔父古斯塔夫·舍默的 G. Schirmer 工作，后又主持 Boston Music Company，再自立门户。公司起步于 Concord Series、《哈佛合唱俱乐部》曲目等合唱曲集，与托马斯·惠特尼·苏雷特、阿奇博尔德·T·戴维森密切合作，很快出版了兰德尔·汤普森、丹尼尔·平卡姆、康拉德·苏萨等人的作品。欧内斯特·舍默之子继任总裁，其后由罗伯特·麦克威廉斯接任。1985 年公司编辑罗伯特·舒内曼与妻子辛西娅购入该社，不久又收购 Galaxy Music Corporation，经营至 2014 年出售。自 1980 年代购入以来，公司在保持合唱重心的同时拓展室内乐等体裁，出版大卫·孔泰、弗兰克·费尔科、罗伯特·基尔、莉比·拉森、格威妮丝·沃克等。其 BMI 附属品牌为 Ione Press。
