Work & Edition Details
The composition is available as an autograph. Menager signed it and gave the date February 8, 1889. The piece was premiered on April 27, 1889, during a festival of the "Gym" (Société de gymnastique) in honor of Michel Lentz, at which only works by Luxembourg composers were played. The reference of another performance is found in the program of RTL for February 20, 1960. Menager served the today (2022) little known song with the title "Mei Land. Èng Stemm an der Friémd" from Michel Lentz' collection "Spâss an Iérscht" as a model. He took the title from the text incipit of the first stanza.
