For Soloist, Mixed Choir, Children’s Choir, Congregational Singing, Organ, Percussion, Piano and Orchestra | A Christmas oratorio. It lets the congregation take an active part in singing and uses Gregorian chant as a time-transcending element. “Christus natus est hodie” is an oratorio for Christmas. Together with the oratorios “Media vita in morte sumus” (Sunday in commemoration of the dead) and “Crucifixus est pro nobis” (Good Friday) it is part of a trilogy. The main aim of the composer was let the congregation take an active part in the music, which is reached in the chorales. The children’s choir also has got an appropriate task. Gregorian chant is being used as a time-transcending element.
