Work & Edition Details
Rondeau was originally written for one of my Sound Sketches educational piano books (published by EVC Music Publications) but in the end it was never used. Subsequently I adapted the music and it became part of the piece French Concerto and forms the basis of the closing section. I then made up a solo version for Marie van Rhijn, which she premiered in Paris in 2016. It has also been performed by Assi Karttunen as part of the multi-media event 'Et in Arcadia Ego' which tooks place both in Finland and at the Venice Biennale. The music is in many ways a simple and affectionate homage to Couperin.
