Mariano Garau, Italian composer, born in Iglesias, Sardinia, began to dedicate himself to music as a small cantor under the direction of the composer Pietro Allori M° di Cappella of the cathedral of Iglesias. He studied harmony and counterpoint with Maestro Rodolfo Cicionesi of Florence. He is the author of romances for soprano, tenor, songs for children, masses and motets for choir.
