Work & Edition Details
Composed in 2004 as an entry in the 2005 International Trumpet Guild’s Annual Composition Contest; The work is in three contrasting movements: I. Intrada; II. Lament; and III. MarchA. While the work is basically tonal, it exhibits a “contemporary feel” through the use of a mix of tertial and quartal harmonies, the interjection of occasional measures in odd or mixed meters and, in the first and third movements, the use of strong and incisive rhythms. For the advanced soloist; medium difficult for parts. (2004)
