Work & Edition Details
Commissioned and dedicated to Vincent van Amsterdam.
Encore begins with slow, mournful music that gradually develops and becomes more insistent, both rhythmically and in musical expression. The music from the beginning returns in a more outward-looking version, before the work ends with a small coda with rapid repetition of notes from earlier in the work. Supported by The Danish Arts Foundation.
