Work & Edition Details
Mauro Giuliani’s fine set of variations op. 107 on the theme of Handel often called “The Harmonious Blacksmith” dates from about 1827. The familiar theme was well known in Giuliani’s day; he may have taken it from any number of sources, for example from Moscheles’ set of variations on this theme for piano, op. 29. This edition is a facsimile of the edition published by Hofmeister in Leipzig in about 1827.
