Work & Edition Details
Giuliani dedicated these Six Variations op. 63 for violin and guitar to his friend and colleague the violinist Joseph Mayseder, so it is likely to have been one of the works that they played together. It contains brilliant writing for both instruments. It was first published in Vienna in about 1816 and consists of an introduction maestoso and theme and six variations.
