Work & Edition Details
Mauro Giuliani’s Grand Potpourri op. 53 for flute or violin and guitar is built on a number of melodies of the time. Its opening is the opening of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, while in the flute part is to be found the so-called “champagne aria” from the same opera. It was first published in Vienna in about 1814.
