Work & Edition Details
In the 1950s, I studied and admired Josquin des Prez's masterpiece Pange Lingu (1515); its strict four-part harmony and clear formal amlage became a model for me. However, the musical language of the Franco-Flemish masters remained free and without compositional reference. The work came into being - untypically for my way of working - while walking and wandering around my native city. This allows me to emphasise the independence of my work - the expressive intonation, the vivid interpretation of words, and a sharp imprint of dramatic power dramatic power, which is partly and major seventh. They are rare in the literature of the rare in the literature of the time.
