Work & Edition Details
Emilie Mayer - born in Friedland (Mecklenburg) in 1812, died in Berlin in 1883 - is one of the most remarkable German composers of the 19th century. In an epoch in which composing women were for the most part allowed to perform their works exclusively in a domestic setting - at best in the context of a salon - Emilie Mayer practiced her activity as a full profession. Her piano trios are a great discovery. The Große Trio in B minor published here was published in 1861 by C. A. Challier & Co.
