Work & Edition Details
The prelude, which is based entirely on the motif of the trumpet beginning as a soloist, is followed by a middle movement which, after a quiet beginning and dynamic increase, fades away again quietly. In the final section, the trumpet motif is taken up again and linked with the Chaconne theme in a variety of ways. The organ should be two-manual.
