Work & Edition Details
The oratorio scene "Epitaph for Stephanus" was commissioned to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the consecration of St. Stephanus Cathedral in Halberstadt. The commissioner was Cathedral Cantor KMD Klaus-Jürgen Teutschbein, who also conducted the first performance on 9 June 1991. The text based on Acts 6,7 was written by the theologian and teacher Dr. Gottfried Schille (1929-2005) from Leipzig-Borgsdorf. Leipzig-Borgsdorf.
