Mauro Giuliani’s Duo Concertant op. 25 for violin and guitar is technically demanding for both players. We know that Giuliani and the violinist Mayseder performed together in concerts, and perhaps this was one of the works which they played. This Duo Concertant was first published in Vienna in about 1812. It has four movements: Maestoso Theme and six variations Minuet and trio Rondo allegretto
