Work & Edition Details
The title (piece with fourths) describes an initially rather external feature of the composition, which, however, as a consistently used element permeates and determines the theme and the musical movement. The composition should definitely be played in the usual seating arrangement for ten-part instrumentation Trp.1 2 3 4 Hn. Euph. Tb. Pos. 3 2 1, as the arrangement with its sound groups, detachments, spatial effects etc. is largely adapted to this.
